We now have our first playtest build! Very rough, of course, but it's important to start playtesting and getting feedback as soon as possible.
These are the first 8 levels in the build – we have many more in various stages of completion, but for now it's important that we playtest the basics. In particular, we're looking at how players handle the controls, how they approach puzzles, and how easily they pick up the game's mechanics and concepts.
The early levels in the final game are hugely important. This 'onboarding' is largely my responsibility, and will be a big focus – how we teach the player each concept, and the order we teach them in, can make or break the player's experience.
